Lowcountry Choice Awards 2026 — Insurance Agency of the Year

Readers across seven coastal counties picked this year's agency in an open vote. We are proud of it — and we will keep saying the boring part out loud. Our help costs you nothing. We are paid by the carrier you choose, and your premium is the same whether you enrol with us or on your own.

Meet your advisor

Insurance should not need a translator

Cedar Landing Benefits was founded by Meg Quillen after fifteen years on the service side of the business, where she spent most days undoing decisions that had been made too fast.

The agency has grown to four advisors since, but the rule has not changed: you get a person, that person stays your person, and nobody moves on to the paperwork until you can say back what you are buying and why.

  • Independent — we compare the whole panel we represent, not one carrier's shelf
  • Credentialed retirement-benefits and Medicare planning advisors
  • Appointments in English, Spanish and Portuguese
  • No cost to you, at any point, in any year

More than an agency

The people behind Cedar Landing

Free seminars, kitchen-table reviews and a front desk that answers. This is what the work actually looks like.

An attentive group of adults seated at an indoor conference, focusing on a presentation.
A free “Turning 65” session at the county library
Senior couple discussing documents with a business advisor in a modern office setting.
Plan reviews happen at kitchen tables more often than at ours
A sleek modern office with a minimalist design focusing on earthy tones and natural light.
The Bay Laurel Street office, open to walk-ins on weekday mornings
Charming tree-lined path in Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia, perfect for a tranquil walk.
Client appointments from the marsh to the barrier islands
Focused call center employees wearing headsets, assisting customers with exceptional service.
Video appointments for the nine states we cover remotely
Businesswoman with headset working at her desk in an office environment.
Front desk — someone answers, every time

How it works

Three steps, and none of them are rushed

Senior couple discussing documents with a business advisor in a modern office setting.
No cost to you — guidance is always free
  1. Tell us what is going on

A relaxed conversation about your doctors, your medication list, your budget and your timing. Twenty minutes is usually enough.

  2. We line the options up

Every plan you qualify for across the carriers we represent, compared on the numbers that will actually reach your bank account.

  3. You decide, we handle the rest

Applications, confirmations and ID cards. Then we check in every year, because the best plan this year is rarely the best plan next year.

The difference

Who is actually on your side

Independent, credentialed and genuinely on your team — here is what each of those words means in practice.

01

Independent, not captive

No insurer signs our paycheque. We compare the panel we represent and tell you which plan fits, not which plan pays best.

02

Education before enrolment

If you cannot explain your plan to your own family, we have not finished. Nobody is rushed toward a signature here.

03

Credentialed advisors

Our CRBC™ and MPA-C™ designations mean the Social Security and Medicare planning is done properly, not guessed at.

04

Local and bilingual

English, Spanish and Portuguese, in person across the Lowcountry and coastal Georgia, or by video anywhere we are licensed.

Not sure your current plan still fits?

If your cover feels confusing, thinner than you remember, or pricier than it was, you are not alone. Most people do not need a new plan — they need a fresh look at the one they already have.

In their words

What our clients say

Invented reviews, written to show the layout. Nothing here is a real customer statement.

Meg untangled Medicare for both my parents in one afternoon. She was patient and honest, and she never once made us feel rushed or sold to.

Denise R.Rincon, GA

As a freelancer I dreaded picking health insurance every January. Ana found a plan that kept my doctor and lowered what I pay each month.

Marcus T.Bluffton, SC

We moved our small business benefits to Cedar Landing and actually saved money while giving our team better cover. Warren did the whole handover.

Priya S.Pooler, GA

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

One team for the whole map: Medicare Advantage, Supplement and Part D, ACA Marketplace plans, self-employed and family health cover, small-business group benefits, life insurance, dental, vision, critical illness and Social Security timing.

Nothing. We are paid by the carrier you choose, and your premium is exactly the same whether you enrol through us or on your own. There is no fee for a plan review, and no fee for the years afterwards.

Yes. Roughly half our clients file a 1099 or sign the payroll. We handle individual Marketplace plans, level-funded and fully insured group plans, and PEO arrangements for businesses that have outgrown a simple group plan.

Not if we do this properly. Before any recommendation we check your doctors, your hospital and your medication list against each plan's network and drug list, and we tell you plainly when a plan would cost you a provider you want to keep.

No. We work with people from their first job to their last, and quite a lot of households where a parent is on Medicare and the adult children are on a Marketplace plan. One agency covers both conversations.

You keep the same advisor. We review your plan every autumn before the annual enrolment period closes, flag anything that changed in your plan's notice letter, and help with claims or ID cards whenever you need it.
