Cedar Landing Benefits is a family-owned independent agency on Bay Laurel Street. Four advisors, eight carriers, and one rule: nobody signs anything they cannot explain.
Our story
Fifteen years of undoing rushed decisions
Meg Quillen spent fifteen years on the service side of the insurance business before starting this agency in 2016. Most of those days were spent unpicking decisions somebody had made too fast — a plan bought over the phone in eleven minutes, a drug list nobody checked, a penalty that could have been avoided by a single question.
Cedar Landing was built to be the opposite of that eleven-minute phone call. The agency has grown to four advisors and eleven state licences, but the pace has not changed: we take as long as the household needs, and we would rather lose an application than rush one.

The money question
How we are paid, in full
Our help costs you nothing. We are paid by the carrier you choose, and your premium is the same whether you enrol with us or on your own.
Cedar Landing is an independent agency. We are not captive to one insurer, so we can compare the whole panel we represent.
Commissions on Medicare products are set by the government and are effectively the same across carriers, which removes the incentive to steer you. We will tell you when a plan we cannot sell is the better fit — including Original Medicare with no extras at all.

We check before we recommend
Doctors, hospital and medication list, against the network and the drug list, every time.
We do not cold call
No unsolicited Medicare calls, ever. If your phone rings out of nowhere, it is not us.
We stay after the signature
An annual review each autumn, and the same advisor when something goes wrong in March.

“Insurance should not need a translator”
That sentence has been on the office wall since the first week. It is also the test we apply to our own work: if a client cannot repeat back what they bought and why, the appointment is not finished, however well the paperwork was completed.

No insurer signs our paycheque. We compare the panel we represent and tell you which plan fits, not which plan pays best.
Education before enrolment
If you cannot explain your plan to your own family, we have not finished. Nobody is rushed toward a signature here.
Credentialed advisors
Our CRBC™ and MPA-C™ designations mean the Social Security and Medicare planning is done properly, not guessed at.
Local and bilingual
English, Spanish and Portuguese, in person across the Lowcountry and coastal Georgia, or by video anywhere we are licensed.
