When is ACA open enrolment?

Enrol by the first deadline and your plan starts on 1 January; enrol in the remaining weeks and it starts the following month. Some states run their own marketplaces with longer windows, and those dates can differ from the federal schedule.

If you do nothing, most people are automatically re-enrolled in the same or a similar plan — which sounds convenient and is how households end up in a plan whose network or drug list changed underneath them. Check the renewal notice every year, even when you intend to stay put.
