Savannah is the Chatham County seat and the reason our office sits where it does, a few minutes from the courthouse on Montgomery Street. It is also the largest Medicare market between Charleston and Jacksonville, which cuts both ways: more plans to choose from, and a great deal more mail to ignore.
Local care
Memorial Health University Medical Center on Waters Avenue, Candler Hospital off DeRenne and St. Joseph's Hospital on Mercy Boulevard are all inside the city limits. Nobody in Savannah is more than about fifteen minutes from an emergency room.

What is different in Savannah
Because Chatham attracts the densest set of Advantage filings on the Georgia coast, two households on the same street can end up on very different plans for no better reason than which advert arrived first. The question worth asking is never which plan is cheapest. It is whether the specialist you already see at Memorial or St. Joseph's/Candler is in network, and whether your drugs sit on a tier you can live with in December as well as January.
Timing
Everyone gets the same windows. Which of them is the useful one depends on where you live and what you already have.
This is the one that matters most in Savannah, because this is where the most plans change. Networks and drug tiers move every year; your Annual Notice of Change arrives in September and is worth twenty minutes of your time.
If an autumn decision turns out wrong, Advantage members get one switch in the new year. We see more of these in Chatham than anywhere else on our map, usually when a drug lands on a tier nobody checked.
